Unless you’re new to the world of PC components, you know that the driver is essential to hardware communication. Your computer won’t always know how to interact with devices, so it is important that you invest wisely in your driver. The right investment can deliver the speed boost you need to gain a competitive edge for work, play, or everyday use. XOTIC PC offers a convenient catalog of PC drivers and downloads made by some of the best manufacturers in the market, including Acer®, ASUS®, GIGABYTE™, Sager®, MSI®, NVIDIA®, and AMD. Select the right brand and follow the instructions. Each interface is utterly unique, but most will require your device serial or model number. Some sites allow you to search by series or model name, so you can access downloads, manuals, and support. Most computers come equipped with a driver made by Windows, but these PC drivers rarely include all the features and speed enhancements you need to enjoy maximum performance. If you built your own PC or built a computer with the help of our custom design team, you are currently using the Microsoft-approved drivers included in Windows. How to Update PC Drivers Any driver update will require administration membership or equivalent to complete. Using your Device Manager, you can update or change a device driver. Just double-click the type of device you want to update or change. Right-click the device name and select Update Driver. Follow the instructions in the Update Driver Software wizard. Your personal computer may automatically attempt to check folders specific in the DevicePath registry entry and the Windows Updated Web site for an appropriate device carrier. You can bypass administration membership only if the following conditions are met: • The driver package is signed with a valid digital certificate, and that certificate is in the Trusted Publishers store on the computer. • The device setup class for the driver is in the policy “Allow non-administrators to install drivers for these device setup classes.” By default, limited users are prevented from installing any device. How to Check Your Driver Version Open up your Device Manager using the Start Menu search box. Find your driver in the list, right-click, and choose Properties. You will have access to all version information and dates on the Driver tab. You can also update, roll back, disable, or uninstall a driver from this view. If you have any questions about this directory or PC drivers in general, contact us today to speak with a customer support representative for further assistance.
